Yeah, I agree. The GW guys are hard working and very articulate with their sci-fi and fantasy. When you take the time to research art and history enough you can see where I think John Blanche gets some of his influences.
Like for example the box cover art of Mordheim reminds me a lot of Hieronymous Bosch's portrayals of hell. Especially with the color palette.
Not to mention I don't know if you caught how the "Sisters of Battle" draw big inspiration from Joan of Arc in outer space.
Yes, works of GW's artists and John Blanche in particular are excellent, they create a convincing images of new futuristic Middle Ages. Yes, I know about the great masters of past ages that were inspiration for the GW's art, and I like to recognize and guess those inspiration.
See her walking the stairs is even more amanzing. I should immagine the difficulty of walikng with a similar outfit. I now how can be difficult moving along with more light teatre costumes. This i truly a test of will. Also a very nice expression.
